im from denmark, and if you can matematik, can you also understand the system, simpel if it should translates to procent. there is few numbers, form 2 to 12, and after it you se how mutsh defrends there is, and now have you Ca. the procent it. but if you will have a number there mostly is the same can you go whif Ca. 20%. and the system is for at doo it eacy for the teacher and senser, so they not have so many numbers.

We were used to have a grading system like this: 0, 03 (So you couldn't put a 1 infront and change it to a better grade..), 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 13. There was a step between 11 and 13, because 13 was a special grade, you got for doing something out of the ordinary. Then they wanted to change to the international grade standard, but still wanted to be able to compare it to the old grades, and they ended up with what you know now. The new grading I think is stupid in the eyes of everyone who were used to our old scale. Because of weird rules, the very good students, come out with an average grade above 12.

The reason the grades was changed to what it is now, was that it would be more international they said, politicians in Denmark are mainly retarded idiots who does whatever they can to destroy how Denmark is. Anyway, could you tell what the differences are between, Americans, Canadians and Danes? Thank you😊 I like your videos and romkugker Is nice, but you know that in a average romkugker there are three pieces of the cake we call vienerbrød. It's only added some a kind of sirup or something. But Try that cake from a bakery and taste the difference. Keep up 🙏

12 = A, 10 = B, 7 = C, 4 = D, 2 = E (last chance to pass), 00 = F and -3 = G... difference is if you add ours up you can get an actual numeric grade for all clases... (10 + 10 + 4 + 4 + 12 = 40... devided by 5 = 8... )

I don't understand the Danish grading system either and I'm a Dane. And they took group work/exams out of high school I think the reason it's still at UNI and KEA for that matter has something to do with lack of money. Which is also why we have a lot of pass/fail grades. BTW I really like your videos ;D

As a Swede living in Denmark I got to say the Danish grading system befuddles my mind with the whole arbitrary numbering thing they do. When I went to school in sweden which I admit was a while ago the grading system looked like this: IG, Inte godkänt (Did not do well enough to pass) G, Godkänd - (Did well enough to pass within the curriculum) VG, Väl Godkänt (Excelled in the outlined curriculum and assigned homework/tests/essays) MVG, Mycket Väl Godkänt (basicly you'd have to do extra credit work on your own, for example essays) Granted, for higher education there's a point system I don't remember too but not as weird as the danish one. Probably more like the one you described. So when someone takes a course or something for work and come back and say they got a "number" I'm just zoning out and going "ok...and that's...good?".
Rikard Nilsson (2 года назад)
+Pascal's triangle Yeah that's a lot easier than the danish one. like figuring out something using this scale: Apple, Car, Yellow house, Blue lemon and Potato "I just got a Potato on my finals!" "Congratulations..?" "I just got a five on my finals!" "Congratulations!"
Pascal's triangle (2 года назад)
+Rikard Nilsson Here in Finland we just have numbers from 1 to 5 with 5 being the best and 1 the lowest you can pass a course with.
Lasse Thomsen (2 года назад)
The old one was 13 11 10 9 8 7 6 5 03 00 and it was changed because the politicians wanted a larger difference between the good student the medium and the bad therefore the big gabs in the gradingsystem
Mike Pedersen (2 года назад)

Ugh... our (Canada's) biggest shame: we're too much like the USA when it comes to business and economics. Thousands to go to school? Highschool graduates don't have money. It's a ridiculous concept. But American-style capitalism would sell out anyone for a dollar. Who cares if you starve if I can make any money off of you.
Jesper Gotthelf (8 месяцев назад)
Tony Bjornson good point Tony. Unfortunately that's not completely true. Some danish graduates have big loans when they finish their studies. If you don't get a job quickly you can be in financial problems. We have good possibility of education, but Denmark is not paradise 😉

Mairi, randomly stumbled upon this video. I don't get the grades either and yet I've lived here most my life. It must be weird for foreigners. Just a note: We don't get paid to go to school, we get supplements so that we CAN go to school. Semantics, I know, but relevant nonetheless.

the grading system should be easy enough to understand 12=A 10=B 7=C 4=D 02=E 00=F -3=Fx
Casper Riecke (2 года назад)
+cimmik 12 = The excellent performance (with no or few deficiencies) 10 = The excellent performance (with some minor errors) 7 = The good performance (with some shortcomings) 4 = The mediocre performance (with some major weaknesses) 02 = The acceptable performance (minimum acceptable degree of fulfillment of the subject) 00 (fail) = The inadequate performance (does not demonstrate an acceptable level of achievement of the subject) -3 (fail) The poor performance (completely unacceptable performance)

Danes don't understand the grading system either. It's silly. When I was in High School, the scale was 00, 03, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13. 13 was absolute top grade, and 00 is what you got if you didn't go to your exams/hand in the paper at all.

Tony Gill (3 года назад)
+Lars Brøndum I really doubt it. I went to Aarhus to study for a term and I absolutely loved it. I think most Canadians love Denmark.
Carras111 (3 года назад)
The reason the the -3 to 12 scale is to mimic the A. B .C D or E grades. But because Denmark uses the average grade to determine what school you would actually be able to get through we need a bigger diversity between the -3 and 00 (failing grades), the 02 and 4 (average grades) 7 (above average) and the 10 and 12 which are really good grades to have. If you have passed some subjects with a 7 but totally failed something else your score average will show it :P It does not make sense but the average grade is important and the system is an attempt to integrate our old grading system with a more global one to make it easier to compare. I'm from Denmark and studying to become a teacher and the grading system only makes more sense to me than it does to you because i grew up with our old system. If i hadn't known about that one i would just as confused as anybody else in the world. Overall it's accurate for most educations even my own. Was fun to hear about of it works in Canada ^^

Yes...! From 1000 us dollar and up to around 2000... A month... If you are living at home, max 1000 us.... And that is why Denmark and the other Scandinavian countries are as they are.. Kiss And if you cant get a job after, You will be paid around 2000 us untill you get a job... And ALL healthscare is free.... And if you and your wife loose a leg, and cant work and you have three kids under 18, You will have at least 7000-8000 us dollar a month to live for... That is the way we are living in Scandinavian.... WE ARE TAKING CARE OF EACH OTHER...!!! Krgds

just to be clear, Danes don't understand the grading system either. We were told it's to do with transferability to other grading systems, not sure why we wouldn't just adopt a different grading system then? :S Also it had to do with the fact that the grading system before had an almost unattainable grade of 13, only given to students who excelled far beyond the expectations of the teacher, apparently this meant, it was easier for other countries who didnt have such a grade to gain access to our higher education ahead of Danish students. So it's kind of political and nonsensical which yes, usually go very well hand in hand.
Andreas Bæch-laursen (3 года назад)
I can explain you the danish grading, but only cause your eyes are so pretty. How the danish grading system is now(recently changed) Is to fit with most grading systems on a world wide scale. So basically they can be translated into like A's and B's and what ever you use. But i guess, we sticked with the numbers instead of letters cause thats what we have had always. Another reason why we changed it was because before it would be almost impossible to get top grades which was 13, i dunno why it was like that but graders expected that to get top grades, you would need to do everything perfect and then some, which doesnt really prep danes or anyone else with a danish dimploma, since you could never get more than a B/B+. Or to translate it into your canadian percentage scale i guess it would be like the top grade is 105% right answers eventhough you can only get 100% right.

Well would you like to get free education in Canada too on all levels ? Well jump on the wagon i have been fighting for this for awhile their is absolutely no reason why education can't be free in Canada..hell i'd feel like my tax dollars were actually going to a good cause instead of blowing up terrorists in another country? Their isn't a party in Canada right now geared to do this but i'm hopping the NDP will because supposedly they are for the people. Also trying to create a party too called the human party that is on left. if you know politics you know what that means. please join me and plaster we want free education in Canada everywhere!!!

Interesting take on the two countries, myself having gone through a more 'creative' style education, the actual 'marks' given were always secondary in my mind and most others in the program, the true 'mark' of talent and knowledge was always in comparison to the other students..., their style, technique, overall skills, and where you matched up to them. Letter grades really meant nothing, and 20 years on in my design career it was the body of work done prior to and during my education time that was most important when trying to find that first job/position in the design field, maybe things have changed in that regard, your school rank, etc., but now as I try and find freshly graduated freelancers to help take on extra work projects, for me it comes down to overall style, feel for the design process, and most importantly, though this may ruffle a few feathers... personality, something that seems to be lacking in quite a few of the recent students I've met with, as many of them seem to think their grades are what 'I' should be paying attention to... also very few seem to have the stories of struggling to buy either food or art supplies during the tight times during their education, but I guess considering the costs of any school, many now 'have' to be it seems supported by parents, which in my mind seems to take away from the grit, determination, and really the peronality development of these young soon-to-be professional artists, but I'm sure the same was probably said about my generation of creative grads!

the grading system in denmark was made to make a easier translation into american grades: like 12 is A+, 10 is the same as A etc. its basicly to make it easier for danish students to go an study aboard (i.e. in the states.) ... but it still doent make sense. In the grading system before the current one there where also the grades 7,8 and 9 where 8 was the ok performance - then 7,8 and 9 became the same as 7. It very unlogical how education systems develops

Danish grading sucks. It SUCKS. You're absolutely right, it makes no sense at all. And to think that it was created so that our grading system would be more "international". That's a joke. Plus we get our wierd grades "translated" into the A-F-system on our grade certificate anyway so why even have the 12-scale...? On the up side, yes, it is wonderful that we're getting paid to go to school but the only reason we're getting that money is that we pay enormous taxes. That's how our system works. That's also why we don't have to pay up front for medical care in our hospitals. It's already been paid for via taxes. But I don't think that our "state support" (= the money we recieve for attending an education) is something we'll have for many more years. At the moment, it seems, we, as a country, can't afford it. That's truly sad. So we'll enjoy it while we can!

Pretty good vid. Most videos about this sort of topic are basically comparisons based on statistics. If so that's amazing how you're so fluent, in Canada, French is mandatory in most schools but most people are not even close to fluent, they only know basic words and phrases.

Also it doesnt take a genius that living in europe among so many languages is useful to know the most commonly used which is english that is why people learn english at a very early age plus danes are culture well travel people. Americans and canadian cant barely speak proper english and have no incentive in learning spanish because they see them as lower people.

Not all danish people speak english let alot perfect you are stereo typing like a typical american or canadian and there is nothing wrong with that because having an accent is awesome it gives you an indentity and sounds sexy. is like saying all canadian are red necks.
