This October, Michael Myers returns. Watch the #HalloweenMovie trailer now.
Universal Pictures will release Trancas International Films, Blumhouse Productions and Miramax’s Halloween on Friday, October 19, 2018.
Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Master of horror John Carpenter executive produces and serves as creative consultant on this film, joining forces with cinema’s current leading producer of horror, Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, The Purge, Paranormal Activity). Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film, and Green also directs.
Halloween is also produced by Malek Akkad, whose Trancas International Films has produced the Halloween series since its inception, and Bill Block (Elysium, District 9). In addition to Carpenter and Curtis, Green and McBride will executive produce under their Rough House Pictures banner. Ryan Freimann also serves in that role.
Halloween will be distributed worldwide by Universal Pictures. www.HalloweenMovie.com
This movie was straight ass.
STOP REMAKING THESE MOVIES
Stop this madness. 40 years later, plot is still the same. Fuckin dumb. Don't watch this movie. Bad acting, bad script, bad characters. Total shit.
I hope this is the last sequel EVER !
Because this is just plain stupid
Who the fuck on earth transferred a bus full of crazy ass psycho people, including Michael fucking Myers, unguarded by the cops in the middle of the night ?!
How the fuck does that even makes sense ?!!
The original halloween still scare the shit out of me after 30 years lol this movie doesn't have the magic the original had and neither will any other of the movies didn't scare me at all folks not saying it's a bad film
Jamie Lee Curtis’ character HAS had a daughter in Halloween before, called Jamie. However, that was in the 4-6 timeline, which was retconned by H20. In the H20 timeline, Laurie had a son, called John, meaning Jamie never existed. In this new timeline, Laurie has a daughter and a granddaughter, meaning neither Jamie and John ever existed. The biography of Laurie's life is now split into four different timelines (three with Curtis' portrayal of the character, one with the Rob Zombie remake). In the first two continuities of Curtis' portrayal of the character, Laurie is deceased, killed in a car accident off-screen (4-6 timeline), while in the second continuity (H20/Resurrection timeline), she is killed by Michael. In the 4-6 timeline, she has one daughter, Jamie. In the H20 timeline, she has one son, John. In this new 2018/H40 timeline, Laurie remains alive 40 years after the events of the original 1978 murders. The most notable difference is that this version is not related to Michael and has one daughter, Karen, and a granddaughter, Allyson (which would obviously mean John and Jamie don't exist). This new film is a direct sequel to the 1978 original, ignoring all of the other sequels.
Please learn your movies.
Here's an idea, if u want to make a new movie from scratch that continues from the original movie and has nothing to do with all the other Halloween movies don't copy parts of the story line and other ideas from all of those movies and just roll it up into a new movie or get the main actress to look like her out of the Rob zombie remakes. Ruined my night ya cunts.
I overhyped this film since I have been a big fan of the Halloween series (1,2 and H20). The film turned out to be disappointing for me. The film was pretty slow and it’s not as intense as the original Halloween. The daughter and niece of Laurie are pretty useless and just standing and being scared or screaming.Other characters are ridiculously dumb and I can’t stand them,I don’t know why the film makers make them that stupid and useless. We need more characters like Nurse Marion from Halloween 1,2 and H20. And one more thing, the acting is horrible except Jamie Lee Curtis or sheriff Frank. Jamie saved the movie and the last part kinda redeems the whole film. I was disappointed but it’s not that bad so I guess 6.5 or a 7 from me.
I’m the biggest Halloween fan EVER but the only thing scary about this movie was Jamie Lee Curtis hairstyle. Extremely disappointing. They had soooo long to make a good, original Michael Myers with different scares and ways to kill but it’s just the same ole thing. Hey, new horror franchises have learned how to scare, why hasn’t Halloween, the original horror movie learned from them and actually scare me again? It’s 2018. Scares and kills from 1978 do not work anymore. Not saying you have to eat someone’s brains but smacking them in the head with a hammer ain’t scaring me. What happened to real horror? Guess I will stick with 2005 Texas chainsaw massacre. I felt true panic the first time I watched that. Miss that feeling.
...the main reason MICHAEL isn't as scary to me as JASON and FREDDY...
...JASON and FREDDY are dead...MICHAEL is alive...
...therefore...he poops...no matter how many times he stalks babysitters and nurses through hallways, he still has to stop in-between kills to either take a piss or pinch a loaf...
this movie had some of the most unrealisticly dumbest characters i ever seen in a horror film. I tried so hard to like it but the characters were just 2 stupid. You know it is possible to make a scary movie with some common sense but everyone was a idiot except for a black kid that played a small role. Only thing i liked was the special effects. Please let Michael stay dead after this one. I'll give this movie a 4 out of 10 and that's me being nice. Ima need the writers to step there game up.
So I’m assuming you haven’t seen any of the previous films. Halloween 6 establishes that Michael is cursed with the Thorn, which forces him to kill his bloodline, but that’s no longer canon. In all the other timelines, we don’t know why he kills. He’s just evil.
i cant stand this film.
laurie prepared for a long time and didnt even install lights in the rooms of her house.
there were a lot of junk in her house that can br a hiding place for michael.
she have a lot of gun but only carried 1 and a knife.
when michael was outside, michael and laurie saw each other from the door. then laurie took cover on the same door. like really?
they left michael there standing and alive while the house is burning. they could have shot him to death but of course they didnt. so im pretty sure, michael will come back!
This movie is a major disappointment. The acting and the characters are weak. I had an overwhelming urge to fast forward to the death scenes and skip through all the tween melodrama. Once again a classic is soiled to appeal to the millennials. I'm surprised they didn't give Michael Myers a Twitter account or made him wear a fedora.
_Halloween (2018) is that one sequel to the beloved original that we always wanted, but never got until now. Blowing new life into the HALLOWEEN franchise, this newest installment paves ahead a road toward a bright - and let it be said, of course - terrifying future._
Wow what an awful film , I love the slasher flicks especially halloween , But the acting , the script and everything about it was just a let down . Probably one of the worst films i have seen this year .
There are so many possible ways to avoid death in the movie.. and there were so many problem. for example the grandmas house where she has a million locks but her door is wood and has windows, seriously. This movie makes me triggered. The only smart person in the movie was the black kid.. He survived for sure.
That's because H20 and 4-6 are NOT canon with each other. H20 is a sequel to H1 and H2, not H6. Jamie never existed in the H20 timeline. Regardless, Halloween 2018 ignores ALL of the sequels, being a sequel to the original, so why is any of this relevant?
the thing about this movie that makes no sense, is that if only the first movie is involved, then why is she already so scared and prepared for Michael when it only happened once, why does she already have such a damn connection with him.
Well, her friends got butchered, and she was chased by a masked psychotic murderer wielding a kitchen knife. She's been scarred since that night. That type of experience will traumatize you and will never leave your mind. Loomis may, in fact, have told her more about Michael and how he studied him during his time of captivity. It's entirely possible that Loomis provided Laurie with an insight into Michael's character and psyche and malevolent character some time after the events of the original, which led to Laurie's obsession with Michael. She probably took his words, and then decided to put an end to him, taking on his role after his death. Laurie is now obsessed with Michael to the point of living in a remote area surrounded by security cameras, secret underground bunkers, and having expert weapon skills. If Michael escaped the first time, he can escape the second time. She knows you cannot kill Michael like an ordinary human, seeing as she stabbed him in the neck with a knitting needle, stabbed his eye with a coat hanger, stabbed him the chest with his own knife, and then saw him eat 6 revolver bullets and a two-story fall off a balcony. This tells her that Michael is hard to stop and kill, so she wants to make sure she finishes him off. She's taking on the role of Loomis now. Haddonfield is the only place Michael knows besides a prison cell. That's where he was born and raised; it's also where he started his rampage. Laurie knows he will come back to Haddonfield to kill again should he escape. It's called being "prepared". She knows he escaped once and could possibly do it again. Sure, all that training and preparation could have gone to waste had Michael not escaped, but then again, it's better safe than sorry, right?
