FCC Chair Tom Wheeler watched Last Week Tonight's bit on net neutrality. He thought it was funny and creative. He wants us to know he's not a dingo.

And... a way belated nitpick at Tom Wheeler's attempt to defend himself. He said he looked it up and that dingoes are "feral" animals. Not really. Feral animals are those introduced to the country (usually by European settlers) whereas dingoes are considered a native species pre-dating European settlement. Aussie 🇦🇺 nerd class 🤓 done ✅ 🤗😂👍🏼
3 years ago, THREE FRICKIN YEARS!
And now Ajit Pai has removed Net Neutrality, we'll have to hope for a presidential candidate next election that will bring it back.
Actually this worked. Wheeler said no to the millions he would have gotten and enforced net neutrality. Acting in the interest of the American people ended his career in lobbying.
The new guy Ajit Pai, Trump put in is getting rid of net neutrality. Say goodbye to the internet.. Netflix will be the first ISP's slow down or block. Get ready to see "buffering", because the shakedown is coming.
John Oliver on Ajit Pai
LOL, Hi it's me Tom WHEELER, Agnes Christine Dhiel-WHEELER-Luttringer's GREAT Grand-daughter, I will NEVER stop exposing you... I'm just getting started you SUCK DUCK. replace the S AND THE D WITH THE LETTER F, AS IN F-YOU, TOM WHEELER.
John Oliver owes Mr. Wheeler an apology. Wheeler has been butting heads with the cable industry. He is pushing back against them and is doing to damn fine job attempting to regulate them. We had every reason to believe he was a dingo, but he's proven himself not to be.
no. he found it hillarious and admitted that it is helping him and his FCC staffs pushing back congress and senate (with the cable companies lobbyst pushed) for the Net Neutrality stand. Ajit Pai in the other hand....
@LastWeekTonight, this was a huuuuge opportunity to fuck this guy very, very, very hardly! Instead, you've just «wandered» around the word «dingo». Ok... And the stuff mentioned in the original episode, why not chase it a bit more? Despite, I still love this show. I've binge watching it for some time now, and it is awesome! Cheers from Portugal!
I'm a big John Oliver fan. That's for sure. At least for Last Week Tonight model, like I was for the Daily Show and Jon Stewart. Now, this being «said, it was a shame that they did not «killed» this guy, politically speaking. They had the chance, but they just wondered, like I've said, around that word. Ok, this is a webisode, it is smaller, but they should've «poked» him a little more, at least, if not, showing a bit more of the previous situation that led to this place (that I also had seen before)... I don't know, I felt that, unlike all the FIFA segments, this was a bit short. Perhaps it was a fight they didn't want to pursue... It was a pity... Nevertheless, go John! ;)
Well, this was a small update to the story and there were other, larger stories to cover, so I guess they just didn't have the time to go into it again for now. No guarantee that they won't cover the story again, though, so let's just wait for that.
I would like to point out that the joke about the dingo and the baby is in poor taste because Lindy Chamberlain’s life after that day 36 years ago was shit. She was in prison for 4 year because of something she didn't do. She was accused because Her husband was a pastor in the Seventh-day Adventist Church that was a little know church at the time, that she performed an infant sacrifice, and that Azaria — the name of Chamberlain’s late daughter — meant “sacrifice in the wilderness” (it means “blessed of God”). Thank you
It was long enough ago to not be in poor taste anymore, plus it's not pretending like Lindy Chamberlain lied: It's actually acknowledging the fact that a dingo would eat a baby.
Besides that, it's become somewhat of a meme, so there's no stopping it now anyway.
