Oxycodone is a popular member of the opioid class. It is widely used in medical settings for acute and chronic pain. Outside of those settings, it has long been used recreationally, with its effects compared to morphine and heroin.
The drug is sold either on its own or in combination with acetaminophen (primarily). When acetaminophen is present, the dose must be limited. The general recommendation is to avoid using over 1,000 mg of acetaminophen at once or 3,000 mg per day.
An oxycodone overdose can be very dangerous and even deadly, with a notably problematic effect being respiratory depression. It is more risky when combined with other CNS depressants (e.g. benzodiazepines and alcohol.)

The Drug Classroom (TDC) is dedicated to providing the type of drug education everyone should have. Drugs are never going to leave our society and there has never been a society free from drugs.
Therefore, it only makes sense to provide real education free from propaganda.
TDC doesn't advocate drug use. Rather, we operate with the intention of reducing the harm some substances can bring.

Can anyone spare a few. People who suffer from chronic pain and cannot afford insurance or even a dr appointment have the worst. I won’t ever try heroine even though Everyone says it’s the same thing. Would like to live the rest of days with pain tolerable . I’ve been using CBD which helps w anxiety not so much for pain. With dea making it harder to get pain meds, I’ve contemplated suicide when I’m at my worst.
The govt needs to stop deceiving the USA on this narcotic! The first being: it is NOT a narcotic! It is made from Thebaine, the only nonnarcotic alkyloid of the Poppy and is a stimulant! It works better than synthoid on the thyroid since it WILL fill T3 receptors! It aids in hormone regulation, body temperature stabilization and sinus/breathing problems, it is a mood elevator mainly due to it raising thyroid levels! It will stop seizures AND banish vertigo! It is helpful for much more than pain and should be used for treatment of those other conditions....a strong dose is any amount where there is no longer a ‘speedy energetic feeling’ if you are getting energy from your Oxycodone than your dose is too low! At higher levels it helps with pain! It is one of the safest manmade medications there is (much safer than aspirin). It should be available over the counter.
Yes, at prescribed doses it is usually safe. The combination can become dangerous with less careful use so it's generally recommended against but under supervision in a medical setting it's not as big of a problem.
Instead of taking Oxycodone 10 mg as many as 4 times a day, I only use the medication at most twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. Although there is significant pain involved by not being covered when the drug's efficacy has worn off, am I right to think that this lowers my dependence threshold by taking only half the prescribed dose? I'm willing to suffer to a certain extent in order to improve my chances of not becoming dependent. Any response as to how I am taking the drug and the dependence issue would be greatly appreciated.
I'm addicted to not suffering. Acid burn to my eyes left me totally blind in 1 eye and 40% loss in the other, leukemia 3 years after that 2 weeks before my 20th birthday, kemo made my bones brittle and I broke my left ankle twice, had both knees replaced, right shoulder, right elbow, left wrist and I've had over 30 operations on my eyes including cornea transplants, limbo stem cell transplant, glaucoma tubes behind eyes, tendons correction" I can't spell the actual word but it's to pull the eye back straight because it got lazy and turned". I now take the 30mg oxycodone and they work and ots allowed me to go back to work have a life outside of a dark room as well as control my headaches so that I dont bite down and break off any more teeth during a migraine because my eyes dont focus in light well. B8t because someone's kid abused them and took them for recreational purposes I'm going to be punished. Wanna know the real issue its simple? They start kids off on ADD,ADHD ,and many others then they prescribe a medication for that sickness. They tell these kids to be the best version of themselves they need these drugs and when they get out of school and the meds are taken away they will try anything and everything to kill their senses and feel what they have learned as normal. That's the epidemic.
What I'm confused with is my say 7-325 and they are no longer working I have many medical reasons for taking but eight years its just not working anymore and my previous doctor put me on roxycodone 30 mg imm release and it work longer and better what is the difference with oxycodone aka percocet and what others are being given in a mg pill I have ms lupus spinal cord injuries and the list gets worse from there I'm just confused like I said on what all forms of oxycodone is confusing me I see most people are given a mg dosage and mine are just 7-325 and eight years its no longer helping
You should add te drug Prodine (analogue of Meperideine, Pethidine trademark) because it is cing stong in Europe and is very easy to synthesoze comparing to other opioids and therefore I think it will become the new super drug after all this Fentanyl derivatives has become more and more difficult to manufacture for underground cemist's after the strict new regulations in China. You guys are real por's when it comes to explaining drugs and your contributions here are very interesting to follow since I work with drug addicts
Government is the #1 reason of why overdoses are so high. With the more stricter Law changes in 2008-2010 some were around that time, and DEA threatening doctor to take their license. Ect ect people got cut off and or cut way back off the pain meds that they need just to get through the day. And now with people not getting Cared for "Doctors" are trying or are buying pills from the streets witch are could be fake or are doing heroin cause there told it will take the pain away or whatever look up the overdose deaths from before 2010 they are way lower then look it up from 2011 to 2018 so fucking high. Shity doctors don't care about patients neither does the government cause I'm sure they recognize those stats. And I didn't even get to write half the shit I wanted to say to even further prove my point the other thing is if your in pain and can't get your meds get your papers correct and see a actuall real fucking doctor who treats and helps their patients
This was great after my cesarean section although I didn't take my stool softener like should have and got severe constipation the first time😂 but yeah, other than that great for short term pain, didn't even finish the prescription.
I take it since a few years cause of pain, Restless Leg and Restless genital disorder. Works like charm. No other drug has had any effect on the Restless disorders because they where triggered due to nerve damage by my actual disease. IT is called Mastcellactivationsyndrome. I actuallly should Not take any opioids because of the Histamine Release but we simply have no other treatment left. And it deals with the chronic pain of my damaged body. I am only 22 years old and opioids will have an effect on such a young brain but my condition has already damaged my brain and has lowered my IQ about 30 points. I used to be tested around 128 points now i am at about 100. Before I had the oxy I took tilidin since I Was 17. All legal since I am a chronic pain Patient since well All my life. I had my first prolapsed disc when I was 11 years old. The Syndrome was diagnosed way to late. Luckly I live in a country with good healthcare. Otherwise I would Not be alive anymore after 16 years of pain we got the right diagnosis just in time. I Was dying in the Hospital when we got it. A few days more and the histamine would have killed me
has it been known to cause severe insomnia and suicidal thoughts? also a feeling of insanity that passes after several weeks to a month? insomnia as in several days without sleep and having to take other prescription drugs to sleep...
I've been on 7.5/325 Percocet 6x a day for about 2.5 years now for an 11 mm herniated disc at L3/L4 with "severe" nerve damage and displacement, a synovial cyst that protrudes interior/exteriorly and a left side annular tear ....gotta love pain management in Cali......
A close friend of mine died from taking too much Aleve. His wife called me after the diagnosis was made. She said it was the only drug in his medicine cabinet and she didn't think he was taking too much. NSAIDs destroy organs. There must be another way to get rid of pain. I personally believe that Oxycontin is a horrible drug. Another friend of mine took Percocet and I never knew that it had Asprin in it. That would be very dangerous. Education is what is needed more than anything because people would not start on any of these drugs if they knew they were addicting.
I am glad im not the only one that opioids cause insomnia. I mean I could shot 6 are more bags of dope an almost OD for sleep if you call that sleep. Hell now im on 240 mgs of methadone everyday and after 13 years I still can't sleep till roughly 12 hours are more after dosing.
I never knew about the Hyperalgesia. I experienced this after 6 months of 30mg or more everyday, it was like my skin was more sensitive, touching things too hard with my forearms or shins would not quite be painful, but more like how you feel achy with the flu.
I'm on oxycodone for pain too. I'm 39 I've been sick since I was 6 months old. 2 kidney transplants, dialysis and heart surgery it's very hard to go without this drug. But the problem is it helps the pain but its hard to get off
This is very informative.,BUT, its a real shame that people who have chronic pain cant even get anything like this anymore for relief. In Michigan alone, the suicide rate has increased by 30%. I believe its because of this very reason...........
I've been on methadone for almost 40 years. Great stuff. I have tried and almost ODd on just about every opiate you can name. The thing I love about oxycodone is I have never come close to ODing on it. No respiratory depression, which is first before heart failure. I once took almost 300mg in 5 hours. I was ready to pass out but I didn't feel that 500 pound wieght on my chest keeping me from breathing like all the rest. To me oxycodone is one of the safest (among the opiates) drugs there is. All you need is the poppy they developed in New Zealand(papaver bractreatum) and some easy to buy L-selectride demethylating reagent and you have oxycodone. This is all in the journals.
You should do a video on Kratom. It was the only reason I was able to get off of 11 years of opiate addiction. I wanted to be done with all of it but the withdrawal was to intense. Doctor put me on suboxion (worst thing I could have done). If only I knew that it's harder to wean off of because of its long half-life. I was put on to kratom by my sister and it really works wonders for withdrawal and getting clean.
Ifeel for you ,just endometriosis alone is to much pain for a human being,to see along list of all Theses ailments for one person break my heart, you need medicine's, opoids to help you survive ,no drugs will ever be enough ,endometriosis is evil, idont understand how can someone can just take away the only thing that give you relief.we have the right to live a pain free life. Not everyone wants to get high, most of us want to get a relief so wecan take care of our family .
I know I went to the doctor for some minor pain recently the doctor prescribed 30 tablets 10 mg oxycodone then I told him I was struggling with anxiety lately did he have something that was not harsh prescribe something called Xanax I have not taken them yet so I’m glad I’m going to be watching these videos to learn up on them
When describing the historical events associated with a country, it is proper to use the country's historical flag from the time period, not a modern flag associated with a modern version of the country that didn't exist when said event took place.
+moderatesunited you gave no idea what your talking about and your the problem for people who have chronic pain from injuries. I got it a wreck 5 years ago and messed up my back. I have no discs in my bottom 3 vertabrae. Bone on bone and Terrible sciatica down my right leg. I can't get out of bed and work and support my family without this medicine. And I don't have cancer. There are people who need this and just because someone does doesn't make them a pill head. If you want to bark up a tree about a drugs we don't need. Go talk about benzodiazapines. Not everyone takes narcotics to get high buddy.
moderatesunited if you needed emergency surgery you would be begging for anesthesia! Should someone with life threatening injuries and illnesses be denied opioids? Are you fucking kidding me? Should cancer patients that have a good chance at making a full recovery be denied pain relief if they are in pain? I had cancer and it was the most painful experience of my life! I was terrified for months and opioids gave me enough pain relief to relieve anxiety and pain relief!
i Had Back surgery in 1983 L-5 / S1 i did fine for 20 plus yrs, in 2008 i had to have neck surgery i had a Plate & Donner bone put in my Neck, i am 60 yrs now , i have been going to a pain Doc, for 10 yrs now, my low back were i had surgery is bone to bone, & my neck & arms hurt like hell, The Pain Doc was giving me 30 mg Oxycodone 3 to 4 times a day, & 10 mg Methadone 2 times a day, Now They Cut Me off the one that Helps me Oxycodone, and they are giving me Only Methadone, He Said that he has to Cut me off because there is an Opiate epidemic ... Now i Don't know what the hell to do, suffer ? i Never abused it, just used it... Sad ...
Why don’t I get any of the positive effects? I’ve been on oxycodone for 3 days and have been vomiting non-stop since I started. :-(. Where is the high people keep talking about? I get no high, just extreme nausea!
HB2803 right now I wish I were you. I tried kicking this stuff when I stop taking him I realize why I started taking them in the first place pain is just too severe without them I just stopped taking them for a maybe 12 hours I start crawling up the walls it's horrible
guys what are the most recommended opiods in tablet form ive only done tramadol yet. what would u recommend rn for price/quality also i rly loved tramadol i just want to try out smthing new. thanks in advance
On Dream Market I've found some cheap codeine pills, 30 Pills each 20mg for 25€, and one yellow oxy 40mg for about 20€ I think. Those are rather popular opioids and I plan on takning them, too. If you just look around a bit you'll find some cheap pills.
Please folks. Don't abuse these drugs. There are so many people, including me, that really need these drugs just to get out of bed. I have a type of arthritis that is very painful. Dude from Imagine Dragons has it. When you want to get high, smoke this weed that's going around now. Or abuse these drugs and die. Your choice.
I was hit by a car walking across US1 in St. Augustine, Florida. That was in 2013 and the car the doctors said was going at least 60mph. I was on morphine for three years and a lot of other medications. I don't have an addictive personality. I have seen people that ruined their lives from getting in an accident and started using pain meds. Now that's their life.
abuse is not just overdosing but when uneducated devils prescribe to manipulate for a check and they don't work for your cannabinoid receptors, even opioid, beta, alpha, etc in your body the fuck you think gonna happen like adding milk and gravy certain chemicals don't mix especially synthetic vs natural. That's why cannabis is the safest to take not that fuck shit, even 1 to 2 tablets of oxycodone etc every 4 hours as needed for pain moderate pain 4-7. Shits a fucking joke unless child human traffickers pedophiles rapists snitches corrupted gov hospitals etc taking that shit like that better yet they will get murdered physically before chemically with eternal torture after death. Marijuana don't cause harm unlike alcohol when vomiting etc just called hangovers cigs cancer n pills fucking overdoses n just fucking horrible medication to begin with when it effects your body more negatively than healing the symptoms purpose its perscribed for but have a different agenda to cause harm. Medical malpractice lawsuits to have pussies end up worse than micheal jackson doctor not enough. Only their last pussy breath for what all those categorical pussies combined caused with non stop torture in their after life.
Since doctors chemists etc don't think it's wrong to kill women and profit more than the average woman yearly salary is it wrong to kill women who defend this fuck shit with child human trafficking pedophiles rapists snitches corrupted gov hospitals etc globally n locally while innocent all ages even newborns n both genders died for their pshyco enjoyment. Only if they gotta gun for self defense like war right even ones under 18 in war as soilders so......this fuck shit from rothschilds to local pussies ending
Its no big deal . Ive used it for my fucked back. We used to be able to get normal codeine here in Australia but now the limp dick cunts in power have banned that. Now im thinking ill just have to go bourbon by the litre instead to dull the pain. So instead of using med responsibly im looking at becoming a full time drinker
I was just prescribed this for my pain. I was a little nervous about taking it until i watched this video. We shall see how I feel. I just dont want to turn into a pill head. I have a family to take care of.
