If Germany is so great how come there are over 58 million people in the USA of German descent. Not too far from the German population today of some 80 million people. Don't take it wrong Germany is one of my favorite countries to visit. I liked Germany much better though when they did not have all the damn Muslims and Turks.
I,m German, pretty glad for all those friendly comments.
Anyway, one fact that was not mentioned is, german economie is based heavy on worldtrading whereon the us makes most of his business within his own counrty.
So if the worldtrading comes to stock somehow and get into a crysis for eg. germany suffers way more then the us.
Reading these comments in support of Germany I believe the time has come Americans should really stop to brag about their country compared to a band of "unorganised countries that are run by corrupt and incompetent socialists" whilst they are beeing led by a facist dickhead just sayin
Global Left-Liberal media suggests Germany is somehow an ideal Liberal Democracy, which is rather mind-boggling. Modern Germany never really had any universal, equal opportunity, point based Immigration system, instead preferred de-facto ethnocentric migration with Government level deals for importing migrants in exclusively worker shortage sectors.
Even if we ignore natural language barrier in Labour market and by extension immunity against Outsourcing, there are real Institutional discrimnations in place. Apparently harmless looking Apprenticeship system ensures labour market entry point is from relatively homogeneous pool of School Diploma holders - one of the earliest in Western world; and thereafter placement is training based instead of meritocratic, relegating even the EU job seekers overwhelmingly to worker shortage sectors, when labour market equality is one of the basic premises of EU Laws.
Germany has never really mulled any veritable Equal opportunity law, let alone Race Relations Law. Social and economic attainment of major migrant groups in Germany far worse than British Indians or American Chinese. German Corporate World continues to be multiple times homogeneos compared to even their own top Universities. And according to Eurostat, unemployment differential between locals and foreign origin residents in Germany at 5.2% is nearly 4 times that of UK at 1.3%.
Evidently Germany has been more open to migration because their labour and housing markets are fortified.
Germany is OP af. It lost two world wars, in one which the whole world had gang up on them to win, got split in two with one of the halfs under communist rule for decades... and despite this they come out as the strongest economy in Europe. Well done Germany, greetings Finland.
All this Americans here ... do you even know that you were refugees from Europe? Europe is the most and best place in the world. in some years you all wish you could live here, because you are all just hungry after war.
"Some of our viewers may have grown up with the idea that Europe is filled with nothing re than unorganized countries that are run by corrupt an incompetent socialists" - pls don't tell me that this is the regular thought of young americans....
I think we can agree that we disagree. However it was a pleasure to talk with you too. We didnt Insult and respected each other which isnt necessary the case in internet discussions. I wish your country the best for the future and a nice stay for you and your daughter in Germany. Sadly you already missed "Oktoberfest" ;)
Ed: I enjoyed chatting with you. We have our differences which is normal. Germans have always treated me nice when living there and visiting. I wish you and Germany nothing but the best. > I am retired and my daughter and I are visiting Germany in November. There are 58 Million Germans of solely or part German descent living in the USA according to USA stats.
georg57 georg57 And then you still have to be lucky that your company actually doesnt fire you if you are sick for a few weeks. I dont know what kind of job you doing but i cant imagine that an employer will put much money in a sick worker if his only job is to screw some nails for example. Whether your company supports you if you are sick or not is voluntary. Systems work poor if they are voluntary. Maybe you got a job you cant be replaced in a few weeks because you are important. But an assembly line worker isnt as important for the company and can be replaced in days. And a 12 000 hospital bill hits him much harder than an engineer in a tech company. Your system punishes the low paid for being sick.
It is true that the US has the largest economy on earth. But Germany with only 80 million inhabitants is 4th. Because we care for our workers and help them sometimes so they can help themselfes. Maybe Germans are a bit more collectivistic than the americans but if a nation with only 80 million people manages to be the 4th largest economy on earth it cant be a bad system. And maybe you could learn from it
Edmund Faust: I have never worked for an American company that did not. I am sure there are the mom and pop businesses that do not. In a situation like that the government steps in and will help you. My God man we are even giving free medical care to Illegal immigrants in the USA. I am ok with that but deport them Immediately. Furthermore, the USA economy is larger than all of Europe. I am sure we have some shortfalls like any large nation.
Americans view Europe as "unorganised countries that are run by corrupt and incompetent socialists" and Europeans view the US as "unorganised states that are run by an corrupt and incompetent republican"...
Germany is what it is today because the US took over their govt following WW2. Had the American's done this following WW1, there would have been no second war and Germany would be even stronger today. They have an insane work ethic but overcompensate for their genocidal past with a misunderstood compassion for Islamic refugees that will ultimately topple all of their neighbors and maybe even Germany herself.
They didn’t mention anything about taxes. Germans pay much more taxes than we do here in the USA. This video is just another socialist propaganda! The average German is so suppressed by his/her State. Not to mention Germans being killed and raped by the illegal immigrant imported into Germany by the State. And if you call this “better off” no thanks. Plus just watch how Germany is about to start getting into more trouble as time goes by.... due to its own socialist policies and due to its suicidal immigration policies!
Uhm...okay? Most germans don't mind paying more taxes, we just have a different mentality there. No one is being suppressed by the state.
Rapes and murders do happen, but it is much more likely to be shot in the US than being killed by a refugee in Germany.
2018 USA growth rate will be around 4% twice the German figure.. Besides the corporate tax rate have been reduced considerably .. This document is outdated..So as of today the USA is doing much much better.
Yeah would be nice.. but the truth is that you have very high taxes... i live in germany and if you earn for example 2000 euro per month after tax you would have like 1200 euro left.. this is a ridicioules tax rate of 40 percent of coure if you are married or have children your tax Rate will sink but still its very unplesant
The refugee crisis has actually helped the german economy a lot. We had an enormous birth rate decline before that really threatened to have a drastic impact on our economy. Many areas simply lacked interested personal. Now more and more businesses do the smart thing and incorperate highly determined refugees, essentially boosting our work force. An often overlooked aspect of the refugee crisis. It brings challenges but also chances.
No way, the whole comment section is filled with Germans names. Americans don't really give a shit about what other nations think about them, although it seems every Europeans country loves to dis the US any chance they get
Gamer X I hope you know over 50% of that debt is to Americans who invested there money in the government and are going to get it back in their retirement funds etc only China owns like 2 trillion and Japan owns about 1 trillion but japan would give it up in a heartbeat because of how close we are to eachother
Germany grows at the expenses of most other European countries. This won't go on like this for long. Either they'll accept to become part of a United States of Europe, OR the euro-system will collapse.
"so the American economy generates ~5x the value of Germany's (0:25) and the average American has more money to spend (even after factoring in cost of living, 1:03), buuuut here's 4 minutes of why we think Germany is cooler"
yeah Germany is cool as shit, but c'mon.
germany DESTROYED Twice, Occupied, Divided, payed everything to the victors, like EVERYTHING, and guess what ? they're the 4th strongest economy in the world.... what a people, how could they do that ? they fought everyone and it took the whole world to beat them, twice . now they're beating everyone economically.
Germany's main industry, which is automobiles, is in trouble. With numerous scandals involving cheating on emissions ratings / testing, and the new EU limits of PEM, this industry with its heavy investment in diesel engines needs to quickly change course, or lose significant market share. Unfortunately, most of the corporate leadership is doubling down on diesel instead. The future is electric.
Has anyone ever thought about the amount of hazardous contents in batteries that will go out of service sometime in the future. What will happen to all this poisonous waste? Sometimes I have to park my car 1 kilometer from my home due to shortage of parking areas. How do I charge a battery under thse cirsumstances? No Sir, electrical cars are not the future. There are fuel cell cars that will dominate the future since they do not produce any contamination
and once they will be available in large numbers, the prices will be affordable. Electrical cars are bound to die sooner or later.
Germany will definitely dominate over USA due to its industrious and educated workforce, strong social safety net, strong focus on apprenticeships and practical learning, good access to high quality jobs for youth, and greater emphasis on practical learning.
The Germans are also instrumental in building Canada, especially in the Prairie Provinces and Nova Scotia.
If it wasn't for the Germans, Halifax would not have been built.
It is not that everything you see in Germany is made of gold.
We have serious problems over here.
One of the foremost ist the change in the understanding of "how to CEO".
There are very few bosses that still have the ideal of the "honorable businessman". This ideal is founded long time ago in the city of Hamburg.
The "honorable businessman" pays its bills in three "simple" steps ... in German we call it "Kaiser, König, Rest" ... that translates to "Emperor, King and the others". Where "Emperor" means: First pay the taxes and all other costs like healthcare (workers healthcare is splitted in Germany, mor the 40% are paid by the company the rest is paid by the worker, where the worker can freely decide what healtcare ha chooses) and so on. The second ("The King"), are the workers. Pay the wages! The third aspect (including the boss himself) are the others. My boss for example refuses to earn money in a month when money is very short. That means you can RELY on stable and reliable money on your account as a worker.
That directly leads to one conclusion: "Keep your company clean, optimize the workflow, give your best, because that has an direct effect on your own life - and never betray your CEO, because he holds your back free of crap."
Community pharmacists are the health professionals most accessible to the public. They supply medicines in accordance with a prescription or, when legally permitted, sell them without a prescription. In addition to ensuring an accurate supply of appropriate products, their professional activities also cover counselling of patients at the time of dispensing of prescription and non-prescription drugs, drug information to health professionals, patients and the general public, and participation in health-promotion programmes. They maintain links with other health professionals in primary health care.
