When the companies slow down your speed after certain amount of gigs the truth is they don’t have a Knouff towers where you live at to support the congesting That’s going on on their network so that’s why you get slow down after a certain mount of gigs right now I have MetroPCS I pay $55 a month I get 10 gigs of tethering and unlimited 4G LTE Internet from my phone and I’m Slow down after 35 gigs but since they added more towers to my location I’m not going to deal with slowdowns anymore because T-Mobile added three new towers so the more towers means no slowdowns so if you live in a congested area complain to your company and get them to add more towers and that way you won’t have to deal with slowdowns and you won’t see slow speeds up there certain amount of gigs I also have Xfinity mobile which is an NBA know of Verizon and I’m supposed to get slowed down after 20 gigs and I don’t get slow down because Verizon has enough towers where I live that to support my Internet usage and I use up to 200 gigs a month so yes I don’t deal with slowdowns in New Jersey because there’s enough Verizon towers so that’s what that means if you get slow down your company doesn’t have enough towers where you live that to support the people that live where you live that’s what that means!
There may be competition for T-Moblie's 55 plus plan which has one line for $50 unlimited monthly and two for $60 total including tax on autopay with prioritization up to 50 GB a month. Verizon is testing a $60 unlimited plan in Florida which is a mecca for the elderly.
First let me say Verizon is the worst company in the entire world. I payed them for 30 years, every month, and they turned my phone off because it used copper wires. I WILL NEVER SPEND ONE RED CENT WITH VERIZON AGAIN!..
Now.... which plans can you tether with? Not easy to figure out... It would be nice if someone made a easy method to find plans that allow tethering..... Tha'ts where the unlimited data plans are failing. A slower 3Mbps plan that is truly unlimited would be best.
I want to see a company that has a better plan than the one I have (as of right now since I have signed up it has been IMPOSSIBLE!!!).... What T-Mobile customers pay $70 for a single line for the "One Plan All Unlimited Everything" & Verizon customers pay $85 for their All Unlimited as well,.... I ONLY PAY A TOTAL OF $40 FLAT!!!!!! Not a single penny more Unlimited EVERYTHING. Not even T-Mobile can beat their 3rd party user company that uses their network! lol.... It includes Free international calling, Unlimited TAlk and Text and UNLIMITED 4G LTE SPEEDS no caps! You will also be automatically detected as a T-mobile client! Using those multimedia apps like Youtube, Slacker, Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, and many more will NOT use your DATA usage but its UNLIMITED anyways lol.... Free T-Mobile Tuesdays as well...... Someone come up with something better than what I have??? I DARE YOU!.
US Moblie is another MVNO carrer that is worth looking into. They offer plans for both GSM LTE (AT&T coverage prepaid plans) and CDMA LTE (Verizon coverage prepaid plans) They offer very affordable custom plans for both network types based on usage requirements. The SUPER LTE with download speeds up to 150 mbps with unlimited data is available on the CDMA Sim card. There is a $4 account service fee each month as well. Taxes are already included. You can Buy a phone or BYOD
Cricket Wireless currently has a plan that is call Unlimited 2 for a single line it is $50 a month with unlimited everything.Data speeds are capped @ 3 down and 1.5 up for a single line. But you can have up to 5 lines and for each additional line you get a bigger discount. This would make it to 5 lines for $125 taxes and fees are already included. Uses the AT&T network. May be De-prioritized during network congestion after 22GB of data used in a month. You can buy a phone or BYOD that is GSM capable, just get a Cricket Sim
Sprint is offering the same type of plan as Cricket above, but Taxes and fees are NOT included.
T-mobile has a plan for Boomers called Unlimited 55+. Geared for Seniors 55 and older. Single line is $50, 2 line for $60. Taxes and fees are already in the price. Unlimited EVERYTHING. Data speed is capped @ 8 mbps dowm and 5 mbps up. May be De-prioritized during times of network congestion after 50 GB of data used in a month. You can buy a phone, or BYOD that is GSM compatible.
Wow love your video your website is awesome glad it's all out there now for the public to open their eyes and pay what they want to pay, not what they have to pay.
I'm all in for lower competitive prices that give you more every year !
You left out the sprint unlimited deprioritization after 23 gigs. I have this plan and have experienced this first hand. But although they say it is during peak times, I was dropped to 2-3 g speeds for months after. I was out of town on business and anything requiring data was just useless! Even after the next billing cycle began, my speeds remained slow. I called support over and over and was told how to reset my subscriber settings, but this would only work for under a minute. This went on until I had stayed well under the 23 gig limit for the next 2 months. Needless to say I have not went over again!
"A ridiculous 5gigs of data" lol, must not be doing a whole lot then, considering that I burn through 5gigs a day!! Seriously, Hangouts, Youtube, DirectTVnow, tethering, downloading large files etc... but I guess it's fine for light users who only wants to pay less than $25/mo.
SimpleMobile now has $50/month Trully Unlimited, and I can attest to it that there's no deprioritization or throttling that I could sense at all. Last month I've put on about 150gigs of data (yes gigs not megs!), and was consistently getting 50mpbs-up/25mbps-down throughout the whole month by running speedtest.net daily multiple times.
Finally we have a viable option for cable replacement at a reasonable cost of $50/month, and prices will only be going down. :)
NO.. NO.. NO.
Freedom is absolutely horrible. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. I
live in Hamilton where I'm on the road daily. It drops calls anywhere and everywhere. It flat out won't work at all in certain areas. Words cannot express how frustrating this is.
To add insult to injury they give you every excuse in the book including blaming your phone. Which at the time was a brand new Samsung Galaxy. I'm sure they are trained to outright lie to your face. I've taken my same phone over to Koodo and have never been happier.
Works everywhere no problem at all. Even the calls are so much clearer. Do yourself a favour and STAY AWAY from Freedom. The few bucks you save is not worth the aggravation.
Mint sim has beed good except for porting numbers, I was trying to port my dads number this morning, not sure if it was our old phone company or mint sim, And the number still has not ported. but they say it should port by monday.
It all isn't about price. It also depends on where you live. In Clover and Ft Mill SC The Verizon signal is so poor it isn't even an option here. AT&T and Sprint are the best in this area. Verizon has been trying to build a tower in Clover but residents where they want to put it have been raising hell and won't allow it to happen. I would like to know how many of those people raising hell have a cell phone?
I have the Unlimited MetroPCS plan for $50/month. Its amazing. I live in probably the best spot for tmobile service. Nobodt around me uses it that much either so when i get deprooritized i still have the speed
You forget to mention that mint sim offers limited WIFi calling. That is important. Does not offer WiFi calling for iPhones. The best is actually MetroPCS at $30 a month. They offer WiFi calling. Also Ting is not bad. They too offer WiFi calling.
Decided to try out Total Wireless and I'm confirming that the max download/upload speeds are no longer capped. I get excellent LTE coverage here in Oceanside, CA and I'm loving the add-on carry-over data that rolls over from month to month and never expires with active service. Awesome deal on the Verizon network! Please note; there is no Visual Voicemail, WiFi Calling or Mobile Hotspot with this wireless service.
You recommended freedompop twice so I tried it. Terrible mistake I spent 75 bucks so far for a broken phone and 0 service. I can't cancel or talk to anyone on the phone. 100 percent scam and you recommended these guys!
I'm on Freedompop and agree Freedompop is one of the best for ultra light users. I would argue that FP is also the best for the light user as well, since you can easily get 1 GB/month after signing up for freedompop friends (google it). I've been using FP free plan for 2 years and saved a ton of money.
ill be subscriber if you can keep this types videos going. so ill be able to switch over to who's offering best deals. im currently on verizon unlimited. today I noticed reduced speeds at congested times but seems to be back at normal speeds tonight. ill switch over to metro and see how that go's since it is cheaper with good 10 gb more. im an guzzler data user. i don't have wifi plus always on the go and don't like hooking up to password free wifi.. good video keep them up..
After many years with Verizon, I have discovered that I am a low average to light user. With that in mind, I decided to try FreedomPop. It has a little bit of annoyance with having a "this is not a verizon sim" message that pops up in my verizon phone, plus the fact that sometimes calls drop and I have to reprogram my phone. I can't complain. I got a free trial and paid only 99cents for the SIM card. Now I will be paying $21 for 6 months of the "FreedomPop Phone Premier" services which activates rollover of 500MB, visual voicemail, usage alerts, data compression, and a premium antivirus subscription. So for about $3.50 a month I have a decent phone line. I really can't compete with that in any other plan. I get free calls and texts to my boyfriend who also has FreedomPop and with freedom friends I get a total of 1GB of data each month.
In my opinion they best prepaid plan is Simple Mobile truly unlimited data for $50 or $60 of you want to have 8Gb of mobile hotspot problem is they don't sale refill cards in stores 👎 but I hope in the future they sale refill cards in stores
Amazing and informative video !! I jump around carriers all the time trying out their various unlimited plans :D
It’s all about prepaid!! Currently on Metropcs 60 unlimited . Might go back to Cricket. Wish Verizon worked in my house :/ and don’t trust Sprint enough yet (I live in the boonies still)
My biggest gripe with the carriers now is throttled video -_- I get unlimited but it’s 480p! Why do I have a phone with an HD screen then? I don’t mind paying more, just give me the option. Sure down the line they will.
if you could do another category for Best plans for seniors, or add it as a category that would be well recieved. I have to get a new plan for my parents and I thought consumer cellular was reasonable until I saw your video.
I don't understand...am I doing something wrong? I honestly rarely use over 2gb of data a month, how are people using more than that?!?! I use data for youtube, google maps, instagram, and music streaming, it's not like I don't use data. But I never go over 2gb of data usage, so how are people using more than 10gb!?!?!!?
twist3dlogic89 well it depends how good your wifi is. If you spend the majority of your time in places that have reliable wifi connections then you will use much less data than those that don't have good wifi.
jmsether That is not true. Deprioritization and throttling are two different things entirely.
What does it mean to be throttled? Let's say you hit your 2GB plan on Verizon or AT&T or T-Mobile or Sprint... since it's not "Unlimited" that's when you'll get the 128kbps or 2g like speeds. ( Those speeds will continue for the remainder of the month, until you pay your next bill.
Deprioritization means you hit say 22GB on AT&T and if there are thousands of people using the network at once you'll get slower speeds. ( for a few minutes usually) until it's normal.
Cricket 40 dollar plan is better, you get 4 gigs v 1 gig for 5 more bucks because autopay gets you 5 dollars off the bill. So dont even bother with cricket 30 dollar plan. Freedompop is a nickle dime company that makes you jump through all kinds of loops to stay free and is a general pain in the neck. Buyer Beware,.
So much of choosing the right plan has to do with how you use your device. I like that you hit this up with the three options and then added the other two for good measure. As someone that is always around Wi-Fi and messages mostly through Facebook or Hangouts, the FreedomPop LTE SIM with 200MB of data (and another 500MB in online friends) is more than enough for me. I don't talk much (usually 100 Min a month or so) so a voice plan is almost not needed, but a little here or there is great.
I also like that you highlighted the fact that iMessage doesn't work with FP since that can be a serious turn off for some. From what I've heard, you can actually do this now since they are using AT&T registered numbers again rather than the old bandwidth Sprint/VoIP numbers. If that is correct, I'd love to hear about it. Has anyone tried since the new program started?
Anyways, I took the money I saved with FreedomPop over the last 6 months and purchased a brand new phone for my service and couldn't be happier with pocketing the savings for the rest of the year. Make sure you check them out of if you are a lighter user or just want to save a bundle on service.
