FYI;: you mispronounced the name of the Mercury. It’s called the Mercury Mistake, and is basically the same as a Ford NamTour. Just ask anyone who worked on these when they first came out. 😂😂

Hey brother I love your videos! My favorite tool for my vehicles is a car maintenance program I use on my laptop named Automotive Wolf www.automotivewolf.com that monitors the maintenance schedules on each of my vehicles including my fishing boat and sends me a little reminder when anything needs to be checked or serviced. It's a HUGE help for me keeping my vehicles in top shape and avoiding repairs.

It's those unforseen roadblocks that put a crimp in things sometimes. Like your vids Rick. What state do you live in? Maybe if you're close to Georgia we could have a cold one sometime. Keep up the fun vids.

I got really lucky. I found one of these tools at my local auto parts store. It was on sale for like $5, I think.

I bought that tool at Princess Auto, a company out of Winnipeg MB. for $11.99 This is a really smart tool, and I used it a few days ago on a 1 ton GMC. It worked like a charm, go buy one!

Princess Auto is the best place in the world! The ultimate man's store! My ex used to hate when we would stop there, because we'd end up being there for over 2 hours because she could never get me to leave lol! BTW, Canadian Tire has that exact tool on sale every third or fourth week for around $30. I was going to pick one up last time it was in the weekly flyer, but I forgot. However I'm getting one next time it's in the weekly flyer again! :) Anyway, cheers Rick! I love your video, I love your attitude, and I love your laugh!
Hector Heath (1 год назад)
Hey Rick that tool is so simple a good mechanic would just make one!
lasentinal (1 год назад)

How can I order this tool ?
Brian 8chison (1 год назад)
Harbour Freight Tools would probably be a good place to start looking in the States.
Jeffry Blackmon (1 год назад)
TSC did not have the bolts you needed? My guess would be that they are metric sized bolts. That $20 tool is quite nice. It should have at least a 3/8 socket hole. Nice video.
Pappy (1 год назад)
Nice ! thanks for the tip !

I find it helps when you flip out and start hitting your garage walls with a large crowbar

If you have any more gotta have tools, I'm all eyes and ears Nice job!👍🏼
Seth B (1 год назад)
Harbor Freight is the USA's purveyor of the finest cheap Chinese tools ever made for one time use. If it does not break, strip, or piss you off enough to make you want to force it through the toilet P trap, and send it offf to turdland, consider it a bonus for ya. I wish Horrible Freight still carried the GM door spring compressing tool, but I had to dump $15 on Amazon for one, and the bearing washer went to shit on the first spring, so run down to a real hardware store, buy a cad cut hardened washer and some WD40, and the tool is actually worth the $20 you spent now.
Dan R (1 год назад)
And you can't do the job without the tool to compress the spring
Dolores M (1 год назад)
Lol, I used to sell quality made in USA tools for a living and just started using Harbor Freight disposable tools. Some are pretty decent though for cheap crap.
Neil Dunkel (1 год назад)
There is better tool its a tube goes over tie rod its better
Shane Weaver (1 год назад)
Now is there any difference between a regular exhaust clamp and a goddamn exhaust clamp? :D
Gord Baker (10 месяцев назад)
One is much stronger, not made of Chinesium.

Dodge's dumbass debate to not put loctite on the hub mounting bolts cost them $198,000,000,.00 buck as this guy sees..

looks like a pipe wrench may work
whywouldntwe3 (1 год назад)
Michel Nadon as soon as u can figure out how to get a pipe wrench in there when the inner tie rod is still on the car u let us know. u must b one hell of a mechanic
TVTruther (1 год назад)
thank you..I can fabricate that
Kristopher Hasenbuhler (1 год назад)
I'm gonna use a muffler clamp and probobly weld a socket to it and I'll see if it needs the teeth or not
TVTruther (1 год назад)
+Kristopher Hasenbuhler shouldn't be hard, muffler clamp with the saddle being thick enough to take a weld for the square ext hole or I could fabricate the saddle with thicker mild steel
Kristopher Hasenbuhler (1 год назад)
TVTruther i think m going to make one

Instead of making making things work right, they just keep getting dumber and making everything more complicated. I wonder who the fat-assed genius who probably never held a tool in their hand yet sold that idea to the automotive industry was? Couldn't put a through-bolt or similar in it...no-o-o-o! Now we need more tools just to overcome a lazy engineering solution. Stupid. Just plain stupid! Great vid, though. Thanks for sharing!
Jeremy Atwood (1 год назад)
Nice find

You had a slip of the tongue I suppose because if that extension is 1/4" ( I heard you say "quarter inch") then you must be a micro midget ! That has to be 3/8" me thinks seeing it in your hand for scale... That is a great tool though! I would not mind having a set of them in various diameters from way small to large. Course that is why I possess more tools than I even keep track of! Overboard on ammassing them! It is SO gratifying however everytime I pull some tool out that makes an otherwise difficult to impossible a piece of cake...this one sort of reminds me of (though reverse) of my set of "inside pipe wrenches" that you slip into whatever threaded pipe won't come out and you just tighten the expander dogs and then vioal! The difficult becomes easy! Another favorite that comes to mind is my standar bearing race pullers consisting of two halves with machined beveled edges and super grade bolts and nuts that will force the beveled edges between a bearing race and lip pulling it off like nothing else in the world could! Reminds me of your tool because of the same idea with dual bolts...
Jo Mamma (1 год назад)
how about a toothbrush
