I used to change transmission fluid in my corolla every 30,000 mils. Now my new rav 4 has no dipstick and when i took it to dealer they said that flushing the transmission fluid should be done in 80,000 mils. It seems to be long time and most of my driving in the city congestion. Does it make sense!!? Or should i consider less mileage to avoid transmission failure?

I use Amsoil 100% synthetic automatic transmission fluid (ATF) which is rated for 100,000 miles and that's how long I leave it in. I've been flushing my own automatic transmissions for years now and it takes no special equipment. https://youtu.be/SHxJYqU95AQ

If you have been doing a ATM flush from the beginning then ok continue doing it - but if you have a high mileage car that has never seen a flush then do not do a flush but instead do a usual drain ie around 30% change of the oil and you can repeat it every year

I did do a flush on a vehicle with 150K and had no problems.
