For people that are mentally Ill, you are un able to do a pathology test, in fact you have no scientific way of diagnosing people. Pretty sure we have a word for that, its called crazy. So you have crazy people diagnosing & medically treating people with medication that has no known benificicial effects past placebo but drastic side effects. Pretty sure if I did that I would be locked up for man slaughter and fraud
if a person has no mental health issues or “sickness in the mind” but we drug them with pills for these conditions, the condition will then become real and the person will be sick and then later we can earn money by having right justification to locked them up or drug them. This is how many psychiatrists do their jobs. Securing a salary for themselves and their colleagues. Anyone stating this fact is called crazy for clearly doctors help people and never want to harm a soul. And in Russia you must vote for Putin, or else... :)
purpose of psychiatry in modern western North American society is to waste the time of the undesirable while the rich are partying. By drugging unwanted people, their lives are ruined. These “mental health doctors” therefore serve as guards for the rich and beautiful people enjoying luxuries. If they figure it out they can fight it within the system, legally or “otherwise". People think they can start movements or liberate others. If they fight it the "red tape” (administration, costs, etc) is such that it takes decades to get anywhere (took my grandma her whole life to clear my great grandpa’s name from being guilty). Much frustration and money wasted by the “patient” and the 30-40 years a person wasted lead nowhere for them while the rich and beautiful people running the show spent 40 years partying and lavishly enjoying life, untouched by the “trash” in “society". So go on, enjoy America and Canada... hahahah <3 :) p.s. while you all were locked up or fighting legally, the Kardashians were in a swimming pool, so was George Clooney. peace :)
“how a culture defines normal behaviour”... in Toronto when a cop is abusing a person and says “I’m just doing my job”. Or when a doctor is drugging a person and says “this checkbox on paper says you’re abusive” when the person isn’t. Or when Canadian Forces make ads that say “fight with the strong, the brave” but they let horrible things happen to people within their borders. This is Canada’s normal. What is your nation’s? If it’s the same, go to a store and buy a Canadian flag and learn our anthem for you, too, live in Canada, just like we. But if your country is different, than fly a different flag. <3 :)
“deviant behaviour”: armed to the teeth Toronto Police with bulletproof vests entering your apartment, looking around, and commenting on your hand made calligrafi artwork “This is insane, like a crazy mental patient made it” and then counting the pills in your bathroom. Gooooo Jays gooooo!!! <3
I have spoken to many mental patients in Toronto (Canada) and can state honestly that “abusive nurses” is still a huuuge problem even in this modern day and age. In Toronto for example, this year there is a case of female staff ignoring the needs of elderly women whom can barely find their rooms due to confusion or other reasons and the nurses yell at the old patients saying things like “you’re lazy”, or “You know where it is.. I’m busy”.. and so on. The elderly are so weak they could collapse and thus break their hips or bones but the female staff like to sit in front of their cell phones ignoring patients. The very frail and elderly are even left to sit all alone in a corner dying in public essentially. This is how Canada’s hospitals in 2018 treat people whom society deems worthless. Someone said women are kinder didn’t see these women clearly. The female nurses even define a question of opposition as “aggressive, abusive manner” and those patients are further abused with greater dosages and pills. Thus patients in Canada’s hospitals rarely dare even ask for a different flavour of yogurt. You don’t see this on CBC do you? Or on Canada’s Tourism ads do you? :) You people are so nice in TO... nOT!
So Rosenhan and his associates turned themselves in to a mental institution admitting they heard voices and were surprised when their diagnosis was paranoid schizophrenia? And they were only in the institution for a month or less to give the doctors time to assess their condition, I see no fault on the part of mental institutions who were doing their jobs by taking their symptoms seriously, as a professional should. Seems like the guy had it for criticizing these institutions from the start.
its a great think to help make mental health hospitals better back in the day , or even now - but its a dangerous way to go about it ............ I think there should be video cam's in a non person private places in all.
I agree to you that some people can be misdiagnosed and Pharmaceutical companies take advantage of that to create more drugs telling the public it can heal them, it's a big business, it's all about the money. And those mental institutions makes patients worse.
Until medical science can truly understand. The brain ,,, we are just guessing , at this ..... we as human beings are complex and emotional creatures ,,,, if some type of traumatic event happens too us .. of course we will have some sort of issues dealing with it .... understand the Brain first ... it's a complex organ .. and maybe in time we will understand the sickness ... it takes time
Add/adhd is a very minor mental disease. Like 1-2 our of 5 ppl have it. It’s so common, it’s like saying baldness is a health disorder. Not even remotely close to the severity of deranged transgenderism
as someone with bipolar disorder with psychotic features i feel like many docs still don't really know where to start. do we start with the mood part? do we start with the psychotic symptoms? it usually ends up being a game of corking up holes that randomly pop up. maybe it's just the docs I've had but I can see the approach change in the future. I feel like it could use a little research. anyone else got similar experiences?
The problem with those who practice within the realms of psychology is that they push forward this notion that everyone should be the same, fit firmly and impeccably onto the same gray line as one another, anyone who falls out of those realms are rewarded with a label "insert something here... disorder"... the person/patient then feels as though they are less significant and a determent as a person. It is basically something that is viewed from and is diagnosed from a societal aspect. I know there is much more to such a professional diagnosis than this, however, there really is so little consideration (generally speaking) in regard to whether ones thoughts and behaviours are actually ok/not ok to that person and whether or not their thoughts and behaviours are of consequence to the rest of society (which of course is important to distinguish).
We cannot forget that we are all wired a little differently which spills into the inevitable fact that we think differently, too. Some let go of their inner true self, or at least bury it because many do not see past what moves on the line that is societal expectation.
There are of course disorders that are dire to ones health and their possible productivity throughout life but I definitely think the lines defining these differences are blurred simply too much in order for doctors, psychotherapists and the like in order to seem credible in their work by diagnosing as many people as possible with as much as possible, or because they place more interest in their bank balances than peoples actual well-being.
Fascinating. My view , Religion has held our advance as a culture back for so long it’s flooding out in a tidal wave of change to save us before we destroy any more lives over a mythology. If a fungus had a large brain it would think the mushroom is the center of the universe and the big Mushroom in the sky created them all just to be the owners of all the world.
Then eventually something bigger comes along and steps on them.
Where will your epic Viking sagas of old men in the desert be then? Toilet paper .
Who ever classified homosexuality as a disease was a fuckinc bigot! They knew that it was just a preference, but they lied anyway! Cause, with common sense, how does liking this sex over the other have anything to do with disease. Did they show any psychologically dangerous behaviors! No! It's obvious! Where did disease even get mixed up with preference. It was just an insult!
Community pharmacists are the health professionals most accessible to the public. They supply medicines in accordance with a prescription or, when legally permitted, sell them without a prescription. In addition to ensuring an accurate supply of appropriate products, their professional activities also cover counselling of patients at the time of dispensing of prescription and non-prescription drugs, drug information to health professionals, patients and the general public, and participation in health-promotion programmes. They maintain links with other health professionals in primary health care.
